Thankful for…health

It’s a rare adult in this world who doesn’t have the occasional ache, pain or temporary illness. I certainly have my share. But I’m so blessed to have good overall health and mobility, despite being overweight.

So many of those dear to me have suffered from debilitating, chronic pain and illness. I’ve seen the suffering and the daily courage it takes to keep a positive outlook and force the body to function. That courage is even more pronounced when the pain suffered is invisible and it’s a fight with the medical world just to have it acknowledged as real, let alone effectively treated.

I’m grateful that I haven’t faced that test of my personal fortitude. Seeing that epic daily battle among those I care for, it puts my allergies and trick knees into perspective and makes it easy to be thankful for my health.
